Wee Switch is designed to avoid collecting private electricity account details. You can compare tariffs without giving your name, address, bank details, supplier password, MPRN, keypad number, meter serial number, or copies of bills.
Who controls your information
Wee Switch is operated under the Wee Switch trading name. For privacy questions, email support@weeswitch.co.uk.
Information we may collect
- Comparison inputs, such as annual kWh, estimated monthly bill, home size, and payment method.
- Tariff issue reports, such as supplier name, tariff name, public source URL, issue type, issue description, and optional contact email.
- Contact emails or form messages you send to Wee Switch.
- AI chat messages if the AI assistant is enabled and you choose to use it.
- Basic analytics and technical data, such as page views, browser/device type, approximate location, referral source, and error logs.
- Cookie preferences where cookies or similar technologies are used.
Do not send private electricity account details, addresses, bank details, passwords, MPRNs, keypad numbers, meter serial numbers, supplier login details, or copies of bills.
Why we use information
- Calculate tariff estimates from the inputs you provide.
- Show relevant tariff comparisons and filters.
- Investigate suspected tariff-data errors.
- Reply to contact or privacy requests.
- Improve site reliability, security, accessibility, and usability.
- Understand basic site performance and usage.
- Maintain records needed to manage corrections, abuse prevention, and legal compliance.
Lawful basis
Depending on the activity, Wee Switch relies on legitimate interests, consent, or legal obligation.
AI assistant
If the AI assistant is enabled, messages you send through it may be sent to Google Gemini API services to generate a response. Do not include private account details or sensitive information in AI chat messages.
Analytics and cookies
Wee Switch may use analytics to understand how the site is used and to improve performance. Non-essential analytics cookies should not be set unless the user has accepted them where consent is required.
Who we share information with
- Hosting provider: Cloudflare Pages and Cloudflare Functions.
- Analytics provider: Cloudflare Analytics or Cloudflare Analytics Engine where configured.
- Email/contact provider: the mailbox provider for support@weeswitch.co.uk.
- Form/report storage provider: Cloudflare report storage or GitHub issue storage where configured.
- AI assistant provider: Google Gemini API services where the assistant is enabled.
International transfers
Some providers may process personal information outside the UK. Where that happens, Wee Switch should rely on appropriate safeguards such as UK adequacy regulations or contractual safeguards provided by the relevant service provider.
How long we keep information
- Comparison inputs: not intentionally stored after the browser session unless needed for analytics or error logs.
- Tariff issue reports: up to 12 months after review, unless needed longer for abuse prevention or legal compliance.
- Contact and privacy request emails: up to 24 months after the request is handled, unless a longer period is required.
- Analytics and technical logs: retained according to the configured provider settings and kept only as long as needed for service improvement, security, and troubleshooting.
- AI chat messages: retained according to the configured AI provider and site settings. Do not include private account details.
Your rights
UK data protection rights may include access, correction, deletion, objection, restriction, portability, and withdrawal of consent depending on the data and circumstances. To make a privacy request, email support@weeswitch.co.uk with the subject line "Privacy request". You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office.
